re:create brooklyn
started in April of 2024 as Trash Club Brooklyn, a family-friendly trash cleanup and sustainability group. The microplastic trail lead us to a global community of recyclers, makers, artist and entrepreneurs passionate about solving the plastic waste crisis, and bringing sustainability and true circularity in to their communities. In 2024 we established the official Precious Plastic Brooklyn Community Point to connect people who want to join the mission. Over the past year, we've taught DIY small-scale recycling workshops in collaboration NYC Parks, NYC Public Schools, local businesses and large corporations. Our mission is to implement citywide DIY small-scale recycling programs and establish DIY recycling centers where everyone can upcycle and transform their own plastic waste.

Workshops
Our workshops are designed to inform, inspire and empower individuals to source sort and up-cycle local plastic waste. In addition to the recycling process, we teach how beneficial the practice can be for our ecosystems, both locally and globally, as a productive means of intercepting and diverting plastic waste away from landfills and natural wildlife habitats.
We can absolutely make a remarkable impact the health of our planet and its diverse inhabitants.
